Huneety stores rich competency and assessment data that becomes more valuable when it flows into your existing HR systems. This article covers how to export data and connect it with your HRIS or performance management system (PMS).
What data can be exported
You can export the following data types from Huneety:
- Assessment results — individual scores per competency, rater breakdowns (self, manager, peer, direct report), and overall proficiency levels
- Competency profiles — each employee's current proficiency across their assigned framework, including target vs. actual levels
- Gap data — per-employee and per-department gap values, gap severity classifications, and burden scores
- IDP status — individual development plan progress, assigned actions, completion status, and target dates
Export formats
Huneety supports structured exports in the following formats:
- CSV — flat file export suitable for spreadsheet analysis or bulk import into most HRIS platforms
- Excel (.xlsx) — formatted workbook with multiple sheets, useful for reporting and stakeholder reviews
To export, navigate to the relevant section (e.g., Assessment Results, Analytics), click Export, and choose your preferred format. Exports respect your current filters, so apply department or date filters before exporting to scope the data.
Mapping Huneety data to HRIS fields
Most HRIS platforms use their own field names for competency data. When importing Huneety exports, map these columns:
- Employee ID — matches the employee identifier used in Huneety. Ensure this aligns with your HRIS employee ID before importing.
- Competency name — the competency label from your Huneety framework. If your HRIS uses different naming, create a mapping table to translate.
- Proficiency level — Huneety uses the Dreyfus 0–5 scale. If your HRIS uses a different scale (e.g., 1–4), apply a conversion formula during import.
- Assessment date — timestamp of the most recent assessment. Use this to ensure your HRIS reflects current data.
Connecting gap data to your PMS
Competency gaps from Huneety can inform performance review conversations and goal-setting in your PMS. Two common approaches:
- Import gap data as development goals. Export each employee's top 2–3 competency gaps and import them as performance goals or development objectives in your PMS.
- Attach competency reports to review cycles. Export individual competency profiles as PDF reports and attach them to the relevant review cycle in your PMS for manager reference.
Tips for maintaining data consistency
- Use the same employee ID in Huneety and your HRIS. This is the single most important step for reliable data flow.
- Schedule regular exports (e.g., after each assessment cycle closes) rather than ad-hoc pulls to keep systems in sync.
- Document your field mapping once and reuse it. Store the mapping in a shared location so anyone on your HR ops team can run the import.
- Validate a small sample before bulk-importing. Import 5–10 records first, verify they appear correctly in the HRIS, then proceed with the full set.
